M88-4E engine program on track

According to Snecma Dubai Air Show brochure, the development of the new version of the Rafale engine, the M88-4E is on track.

  • Feb 2010 : high altitude ground tests
  • March 22, 2010 : First flight on a Rafale at Istres Airbase
  • End of 2010 : Flight readiness certificate (after 70 test flights)
  • 2011 : Endurance tests
  • End of 2011 : delivery of the first production-standard M88-4E

"The aim of this program is to extend the engine’s service life and time between inspections for several key parts. Upgrades are planned to the high-pressure compressor and high-pressure turbine"
 
So, nothing new but the fact that everything seems to run as planed
